Description: The Kilcar Release was a single malt Irish whiskey produced at the company's Ardara Distillery in southwest Donegal. The malt was kilned with Irish peat – harvested from the distillery's own bog – which the Sliabh Liag team says would have been traditional for whiskeys from the region in the 1800s. Distilled during the pandemic, only 100 bottles were made available to the public at that time. The first cask was matured in a first fill bourbon American white oak cask. Double distilled heavily peated single malt. Presented in a gift box which includes a Tuath branded glass, a whiskey flight, a funnel, a 2ml tasting sample and official certificate. Unfortunately the initial bottles leaked and Sliabh Liag recalled these bottles and re-filled the whiskey into smaller 310ml bottles and re-released them, this is one of those bottlings. As you can see from the photos, this lot includes the initial bottle (now empty) and the new 310ml bottle.
