Description: A rare single cask Karuizawa bottled in 2016 at cask strength from Cask #7402. Karuizawa was established in 1955 in the foothills of the Asama volcano, a popular tourist destination west of Tokyo. The small distillery originally produced whisky for the domestic Japanese market for 45 years between 1955 and 2000 when production eventually stopped. Since the early 2000s however, the whisky has gained recognition globally but it won't be long till the last drop of Karuizawa is eventually bottled; less than 300 casks are currently in existence making it a lucrative and extremely hard to find whisky. One of only 486 bottles.
