Description: An older bottling of George Dickel Original No. 12 Tennessee whisky. A brand of Tennessee whisky that was first introduced in 1964. Originally from Germany, Dickel set up a wholesale business in part distributing whisky made at the nearby Cascade Distillery. Dickle and Company became part owners and sole distributor of the whisky. After Dickel's death, the brand eventually came into the hands of Schenley Distilling Company, who, after a failed bid to buy Jack Daniels, decided to compete with their own Tennessee whisky, thus in 1964 the first bottles of George Dickel Tennessee whisky were sold. Currently owned by Diageo, Dickel whisky is spelt in the Scottish form, as Dickel himself believed the product to be as smooth and as high quality as its illustrious Scottish counterparts, this being in part due to the high corn content in the mashbill (usually 84%), heavily charred new barrels and use of the Lynchburg County Method.
PLEASE NOTE
We have taken great care to provide very clear photos of each lot. Please study these carefully before you place a bid to ensure that you are satisfied with the lot's condition.
All our lots are pre-owned so there may be some element of normal wear & tear present. If we ourselves have noted something unusual (beyond normal wear & tear) we will have mentioned it in the 'Condition' section.
We cannot be responsible for natural blemishes in the grain of wooden presentation boxes - wood is a natural product and it comes the way it comes.
