Description:
Bushmills 10 year old single malt is a very elegant style of Irish whiskey that leaves you with an exceptionally smooth finish. Triple distilled from 100% malted barley, it has the distinctive Bushmills' light fruity aroma that travels over the lip of your tumbler to deliver 10 years of maturation mostly in Bourbon seasoned barrels.
Interestingly, both this lot and lot 88 are noted as 'Single Malt Whiskey' which flags them as the Bushmills 10 Year 1985 first releases. The Scotch Whisky Association had complained in 1985 that people might inadvertently be buying these, thinking it was Scotch, so from 1986 onward they were changed to "Single Malt IRISH Whiskey' (and all subsequent bottles, of all ages & variations have had the same since).
