Description: A ceramic decanter of Bell's 8 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky released for Christmas 2006. This bottle remembers Coldstream Guardsman John Hatfield, who was tried by court martial for falling asleep on duty at Windsor Castle. To prove he was awake, he claimed to have heard Westminster's Great Tom bell chime 13 times at midnight. This unlikely defence was investigated and was found to be true, so the soldier was acquitted. When he died in 1770, this story was inscribed on his tombstone.
PLEASE NOTE
We have taken great care to provide very clear photos of each lot. Please study these carefully before you place a bid to ensure that you are satisfied with the lot's condition.
All our lots are pre-owned so there may be some element of normal wear & tear present. If we ourselves have noted something unusual (beyond normal wear & tear) we will have mentioned it in the 'Condition' section.
We cannot be responsible for natural blemishes in the grain of wooden presentation boxes - wood is a natural product and it comes the way it comes.
