Read More Welcome to our February auction! And what an auction it is. We think it could be one of our strongest auctions so far given the range and quality of the lots! Probably the star of the auction is Lot No.1, a Midleton Silent Distillery Chapter 3 bottle, it is 47 years old and one of only 97 numbered bottles! An incredible whiskey in superb bespoke packaging. We also have another of the Jameson JJ&S 'Distilled in 1931, bottled in 1969' bottlings - this is arguably a 38 year old Jameson which to our knowledge is the highest-aged Jameson in existence. Two bottles with a combined whiskey-age of 85 years, wow! We are also particularly pleased to again have so many other older Irish bottles in this auction - we have a good few from around 1970 which means they are around 50 years old! Probably a couple of the other auction highlights are the The Macallan 1966 18 year old, the Springbank 8 year old and the Pappy Van Winkles where we have a 'Old Rip Van Winkle Handmade Bourbon 10 year old' and a 'Van Winkle 12 year old Special Reserve' available as one joint lot. Please make sure to check out our 8 bottle Blanton's set, each bottle is slightly different with the horse sculpture on the bottle cap depicting a horse race when placed in the correct order (please see the lot details for more information on this). We have some cracking and hard-to-find Scotch bottles from The Macallan,The Glenlivet, Glenmorangie, Bunnahabhain and Tomintoul. Once again we have a strong Midleton representation - Very Rare, Single Casks, Method & Madness and the Barrel Club. We even have a couple of bottles of the only-just-released (and much anticipated!) Midleton Very Rare 2023! This sold out online in about 8 minutes and as far as we know it is currently sold out in Irish retail until more stock arrives at some stage in the future. The new box has received some criticism but in fairness to Pernod-Ricard they are have a global 5-point strategic manufacturing plan towards achieving maximum sustainability and the use of recyclable materials as much as possible which will help save our planet so we think it is the right path to take (but we will miss the wooden boxes!). As per usual, we have a wide selection of bottles from most of the other Irish distilleries including Bushmills, Teeling, Dingle, Killowen, The Irishman, Writers Tears, Thomond Gate, Waterford & JJ Corry plus a few more. We believe (hope!) that we have something for everyone - a good few high-end bottles, but also a very decent range of everyday drinkers. So if it's an investment you are looking for, or just some more interesting whiskeys to add to your 'drinking collection' then we hope you'll find something you like. Thanks a mill again for all the support. Happy bidding! Whiskey Bidders
